Hi! I am Dr. Jenny Perna and I have been practicing cosmetic and family dentistry after completing my General Practice Residency in Asheville, NC. My goal is to provide excellent patient care with an immersion in my community while also giving back to my dental colleagues. I hope that with this letter you will have a better illustration of who I am, where I came from, and why I chose dentistry as my profession.
I was raised on the east coast of Florida in a town called Merritt Island. Many of my childhood days were spent watching space shuttle launches from my backyard and hearing the loud BOOM as it would enter back into orbit during the wee hours of the night. Growing up my artistic outlets were in dancing, singing, and acting. I attended the University of Florida for college, fell in love with science and majored in Microbiology with my sights set on dental school. While in college, I began working for a dentist in Gainesville and saw how my two worlds of artistry and science could combine in a career in dentistry. After graduating, I attended Nova Southeastern University where I earned my Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) in 2014. I was involved in various aspects of my local community while serving on the executive board of many dental organizations and overseas through various dental mission trips. It was in the times of selflessly serving patients that I appreciated the impact dentistry can have on the lives of others. After graduating dental school, I attended a GPR program that allowed me to hone in on my skills and learn more advanced procedures to bring into my clinical rapporteur.
I am blessed to be a part of this profession and I am grateful for the service I am able to provide to my patients. I am dedicated to my craft and investing in myself through a multitude of continuing education accumulating to over 500 hours of advanced education. Continuing education includes: Kois curriculum, AIE advanced implant studies, imP.R.E.S. cosmetic training, AAFE Botox and Filler; to name a few. I am a member of the Academy of General Dentistry and American Academy of Cosmetic Dentists. I believe it is my mission to bring universal understanding of oral conditions and preventative measures to my patients so that not only are we treating the conditions but teaching how to rectify the problems.
I currently run an Instagram Dental Blog: @yogi_dentist where I am able to reach a larger audience with my goals in mind. I’ve been a guest on popular dental podcasts such as Dental Hacks, Bulletproof Dental Practice Podcast, The Dental A Team, and All-In-Podcast. I have also lectured at popular dental conferences & local study clubs including American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, Bulletproof Summit, & the Neodent Symposium. I value the opportunity to both positively impact my patients lives and to share tools to help the successes of my dental colleagues.
I love to stay active whether practicing yoga, running, hiking, or working out in our home gym, the Iron Molar. I’m a RYT 200 certified yoga instructor and believe that yoga does a body good. I am married to the best Orthodontist I know, Dr. Vince Napoli & we welcomed our daughter, Valentina in May of 2023. She has been our best adventure yet & forever protected by her big brother, Gio the Doberman.
